April Lockhart
April Lockhart was born on July 4 1995 The seventh grade was when she began playing the guitar as well as taking piano classes which sparked her enthusiasm for songwriting. April Lockhart wrote her first song, Different, at age of 12. When she was 14 years old, April was spending a lot of time writing and honing her music capabilities. Her writing began alongside her father on the streets of NY and LA soon after. April started to include other subjects in her book Take My Hand to help the people in her life who are struggling with disabilities, peer pressure and even suicide. Lockhart is a fashion and lifestyle blogger with a growing audience. She is a partner with the popular brand Ilia with whom she has a partnership along with being a life expert. The truth is that she was born with no left hand and that makes her unique. It's not the only aspect that makes her unique. Our identities are complex and include a myriad of factors. Lockhart through a recorded message sent from Nashville's house, says that I do not want this to determine me. I'm greater than the physical person I am. The fact that it's not affecting my day-to-day life I do every day as normal and have found ways to manage things. But it's also a part of me which is why I think that it's important to speak about. Lockhart who is an inspiration for self-acceptance generally has been on a long process to attain it. Lockhart admits that she goes through a series of phases with regards to her body, feeling uncomfortable in certain clothing which exposed her arms. Now, she dresses in whatever she'd like. She also posts her photos on social media. She says that self-love is a journey. I'm not certain if you'll ever reach the end. It's a trip, but I don't think you ever arrive. The people that you associate yourself by who are truly yours and who can look into your soul are those who remind you the things that matter.
