April Lockhart was born on July 4 1995 In seventh grade she began playing the guitar as well as taking piano lessons which ignited her passion for songwriting. At the age of 12 April composed her first single Different. When she was 14 April, she spent a lot of time writing her lyrics, and perfecting her musicianship ability. She began writing with her father in NY and LA just a few months later. The month also saw her include different topics related to some of her classmates who struggle with things like social pressure and teenage suicide as depicted in the song"Take my Hand. Lockhart is a popular figure and also works as a lifestyle blogger under the well-known Ilia Clean Beauty brand. She was born without a left hand. This gives her a unique look. But this isn't the only characteristic of her. Lockhart's Instagram profile doesn't conceal her handicap, but it doesn't just focus on it. The point? The message is of identities and that we are more than our physical selves. Lockhart has stated on video she does not wish to be defined by her physical disability. She doesn't want to work as a disability advocate who only talks about that. There is a lot of aspects that make up Lockhart. My daily routine isn't directly affected by disability. I live my normal routine and have the solutions I have for my problems. It's a huge component of my daily life, therefore it's important to talk about it. Her journey to self-acceptance will be one that lasts for a long time, and she can be a role model on this front. Lockhart admits to having gone through phases where she felt insecure about the way she dressed and displayed her arms. Nowadays, she can wear whatever she's interested in. and she shares pictures on social media. Self-love, she says is a journey. It's hard to say if you'll ever get there. It's a trip, but I'm not sure you'll ever reach your destination. It's my opinion that having those close to you who truly understand you and can see your emotions is important because they'll be the people who remind you What are you worried about?
