Anna Leigh Ashford

Annaleigh Amanda Ashford (born April 14 in 1980) was an American actress, singer and dancer. The first Broadway parts included Wicked Legally Blonde & Hair. In the musical, Hair. Tony Award was given to Ashford for the role of Essie Carmichael from You Can't Take It With You. Annaleigh Ashford, Tony Award winner actor is a frequent collaborator with famous directors and actors in stage films and television. The award-winning actress continues her career through her forthcoming projects. Ashford will next be seen playing opposite Kumail Nanjiani as part of the Hulu exclusive show Welcome to Chippendales from creator Robert Siegel premiering on November 22. Ashford is currently in production on Searchlight Pictures' horror thriller Dust with Sarah Paulson and Ebon Moss-Bachrach. This film is undoubtedly a Hulu Original and will be streamed via Disney DTC. Ashford is expected to return in 2023. She will be starring opposite Josh Groban at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre for an upcoming revival production of Stephen Sondheim Sweeney Todd. This production will be directed by Thomas Kail and produced by Jeffrey Seller, the team which brought you Hamilton. Ashford has most recently played Paula Jones in the new Ryan Murphy FX series American Crime Story Impeachment inspired by the national crisis which picked across the country. Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky and Linda Tripp as principal characters for the first impeachment proceedings in over 100 years. She was in two seasons of the popular CBS comedy B Positive. The show was co-created by Marco Pennette, Chuck Lorre and Linda Lavin. The show also featured Hector Elizondo and Ben Vereen. She has also appeared in Broadway as a character in Sunday in the Park With George Wicked, Legally Blonde as well as in the initial character in the role of Lauren in Kinky Boots for which she received a nomination for the Tony Award. Ashford was born and raised in Denver and is now dividing the time in Los Angeles, and New York.
