However, Linney was raised as a single child by her single-mother who was a nurse. In the summer and with her father, Linney developed a passion for theater. Linney eventually pursued acting initially at Brown University then at Juilliard School. In the two years following her graduation, she launched her Broadway career. The following year, she began her career in the world of television. She has appeared on numerous stages, films and television productions since then. She received many accolades over the course of her career such as several Primetime Emmy Awards and two Golden Globe Awards. In spite of her many awards, she still loves acting and has performed on both screen and stage.
